About the Image(s)
A gift of purple Easter tulips prompted a session of macro photography. The potted plants were set on a bench in front of a window in my sunroom. The blossoms and stems were back-lit. I was drawn to a curved stem and wide-spread blossom the epistles and stared of which were in positions that inspired fantasy. I captured the scene on an overcast day with a hand-held Canon R5 and Canon RF 100mm lens. The camera was set to aperture priority, f/8.0, 1/125 sec, ISO (set to auto) was 12,800. The image was imported into LightRoom Classic, cropped, basic adjusted made, sharpened and denoised.

I like the different shapes and colors of the tulip and to me the image has an abstract arty feel. You have captured the strong curve of the tulip stem on the left which to me is an image in itself. The top stamen is a bit distracting to me and would tone down the whiteness in the middle of the petals. An captivating image.   Posted: 05/12/2025 20:01:12
