About the Image(s)
We rented a lovely villa in Tasmania on the East coast with its wild beach scenery on our recent trip to Australia. I was photographing the waves crashing onto the shore when I noticed this seagull taking a moment. I loved its red feet and matching beakā¦nature is clever! 1/125 F4.5 ISO 800 Canon R5 24-105mm lens. Very little in post except moving the sliders in LR.

That seagull is beautiful. I like the repetition of grey and white in the feathers, rocks and waves. The red beak, legs, feet and circle around his eye are wonderful. I really like the contrast between the action of the crashing waves and the bird's stoic stance. The triangle formed the orange brown material on the top left, bottom right and upper diagonal rock lead my eye around the image. What is that interesting brown material?   Posted: 05/10/2025 22:53:12
Thanks Judith. There was alot of seaweed tangled in the rocks so that is the brown stuff. It was a very stormy day so am surprised the seagull stayed as still as he did!   Posted: 05/12/2025 19:53:57
