Autumn Gold by Ally Green

December 2024 - Autumn Gold

About the Image(s)

The Fall colours were amazing this year and this was taken on a hike in Cordillera near to us…it is one of my favorite places to hike as the views of the Gore Range
are spectacular. I took this with my Canon R5, 24-70mm lens….1/400 F11 ISO400. I think again I should have used a different lens as not all is as sharp as I would have liked.
Very little in post apart from moving the sliders in LR and a little Dehaze to make it pop.

Lovely scene and I love the composition. The trees on the left and right balance each other out nicely. Getting really nit picky, I might remove the aspen in the middle of the left side that is cut off and protruding into the scene. Other than than I don't have any other suggestions. Nice work.   Posted: 12/08/2024 17:02:53

I enjoy the gradations of colors in this landscape, you are lucky to live in such a beautiful place. The clouds in the sky enhance the image too. To my eye, this looks sharp. This is a lovely landscape.   Posted: 12/14/2024 18:24:01

Beautiful landscape! The image is rich in textures and in leading and diagonal lines that take me on a journey throughout the image. I love the brown grassland between the swaths of golden trees, the lines of sharp pointed pines, and the zig zag diagonal line of green. The misty mountain range in the background is restful and contrasts well with the bold colors of the trees. Great composition!   Posted: 12/15/2024 02:22:04

This beautiful image stirred such feelings of hiraeth in this Welsh girl. The muted colors in the distant hills enhance the vibrant colors and textures in the foreground. All make for a wonderful landscape image, a wall hanger for sure.

Happy Holidays.   Posted: 12/15/2024 19:30:46

This is another lovely landscape from you. To me the colors really pop. In framing up a composition with these nice diagonals I personally like to have at least one of the diagonal lines exit the image at a corner. Too me that just feels stronger. I am thinking you might want to crop at the bottom so the leading line exits bottom right. This would be an even more panoramic image. Try it and see what you think.   Posted: 12/16/2024 14:40:59

Thanks Sharon and yes it looks also nice cropping the bottom to make it more panoramic.   Posted: 12/17/2024 21:46:41
