About the Image(s)
Description: Taken a few years ago in December under somewhat dreary conditions. A black and white conversion seemed appropriate. I also cropped to a 9 by 16 format which suited the scene, I think. I removed a distraction with the healing brush. Did the conversion using NIK Silver effects and sharpened the image using the high pass filter in Elements 2023.

Donald, this is a super image. B&W really does it justice. We have been there many times. I hate to admit this but I get rid of the little building on the far right. I think it detracts from the beautiful lighthouse. Your image is tack sharp and the sky is excellent for an overcast day. Very nice angle and crop.   Posted: 10/03/2026 18:26:29
Tom thank you! The little building removal is something I not thought about. I'd have to do something with the wooden tower behind it. Since you brought this up I'd have been ahead to position myself a more to the left to gain some separation from it and that tower.
I appreciate you thoughts!!   Posted: 10/03/2026 20:23:35

This is very pleasing in the B&W. One really feels cold when looking at the scene. Very sharp. Tom's point is well taken about the crop but it looks good as you have it depicted.   Posted: 10/03/2026 18:48:21
Jamie, thank you! The weather wasn't as bad as the image looks, but the beauty of black and white can make it seem so!   Posted: 10/03/2026 20:25:31

Very nice image. I like the angle which allows for those really nice textured rock to be in the photo. The black and white works nicely with the image. The dark color of the building on the right is distracting, as Tom mentioned. Is there a way to lighten the hue so that it is not so distracting?   Posted: 10/04/2026 20:38:39
A very serene and beautiful image. B&W conversion works well, I would just add a bit more contrast to the sky.   Posted: 10/10/2026 14:30:32
