This is a macro image which I captured at Lewis Ginter Gardens in Richmond, VA. I was using my OM1 Mark 2 with the 90 MM macro lens and a diffuser. The image was focus stacked in camera. The settings were 1/100 sec, f11, iso 200 and flash at 1/64 power. Focus was acquired by manual focus at infinity and then leaning into the stamen. I had to shift the focus clutch to auto before pushing the shutter to enable focus stacking. Image was downloaded into LR/PS for minor processing and then cropped to size. The flowing motion reminds me of ballet.

Richard, your image has a very tight depth of field which is excellent probably due to focus stacking. The stigma and style or stamen are in perfect focus and the rest is out. I wouldn't change a thing. Nice work and very well done. Posted: 08/01/2026 15:44:26

This image is quite lovely. The stamins with the water droplets being in focus and the rest out of focus is very nice. I find the colors to be very soothing and really make the anthers on the stamins pop. It's a beautiful image that fills the frame nicely. Posted: 08/03/2026 16:05:55

An excellent image Richard! I like the details - focus stacking worked well in keeping the stigma and stamen focused. Dew drops are helping it stand out more. Posted: 08/25/2026 00:27:00
