Shot at ISO 100, f/22, 1/20s with a Tamron 15??“30mm on a Nikon D800, this photo captures my daughter standing on Piha Beach, New Zealand, close to sunset. I really love the backlighting from the sun. I converted it to B&W to accentuate the texture on the sand and to remove a few distractions.

"Your daughter is precious, Rizwan! The scale of the beach is amazing, and I really like the artistic touch of the shadows and the two walkers. The only downside is the intense backlighting-the sun behind her head blows out the detail in her face and hair. If you can recover some of those highlights in editing, it'd be perfect!"
