You can control your lighting and force my eyes to look at his hand, the microphone and his face. These are all artistic choices. I also like low key portraits with uncluttered backgrounds. I'd lower the luminance on the earrings to keep the light only on the front (left) side of the model. There are many posing techniques for men. Lots of room for exploration!
