About the Image(s)
Several years ago we were in Tennessee doing Photography and White-water Rafting on the Ocoee River at the Ocoee White-water Center. Luckily enough there were several small bridges and over passes where you can get some amazing pictures of violent white-water.
Shot with a Nikon D300S, exposure at 1/1000th of a second, F8, focal length 70 mm, Nikkor 70-200 lens and ISO 1600.

Tom, very good. The "guide" looks to be having a good time awaiting the big splash the folks at the front of the raft are getting, or are about to get. Nice exposure.
I think the boat is a little too centered in the frame. Otherwise, this is a very interesting shot!! Good work.   Posted: 05/02/2025 21:44:53

Tom, very good. They have rafting trips on the Penobscot and Kennebec rivers. There was a time when I was a 20-something, before these guided excursions became popular, that a couple buddies of mine hatched an idea about tying six truck tire innertubes together and shooting the rapids on the contraption. Seemed safe. I can't tell you how my wife reacted to the idea. At least she didn't run out and get a life insurance policy on me..... I don't think she did.... Never followed through. Probably a good thing!   Posted: 05/03/2025 15:40:35
Very funny Donald! One of mine was using a bed sheet to make a parachute to pull behind my bicycle. Ended up running into a parked car and a broken nose. Such is life.   Posted: 05/03/2025 15:52:25
