Stewart, love low key images and I like the way you have a slight bit of light behind her back to differentiate her form the background which give it depth. Great subject and I like the reflections of the flash umbrella in their glasses. Very sharp and image is quite striking.   Posted: 02/14/2025 00:08:04
I am a big fan of low key images as well. Love the mysteriousness of the style. The reflections in the glasses look even more interesting if there is a grid on the softbox.   Posted: 02/14/2025 23:45:11
The reflected lighting in the glasses draws my attention to the faces. The lighting is very soft and consistent. Christina's face is slightly brigher and draws my eyes to her. How did you create that little bit of backlight? You show very good control of external lighting.
A very skillful image!   Posted: 02/14/2025 17:38:31

Thanks for the comments. I believe that was a strip box providing the additional light. The lighting on her belt and pants is a little to bright to be a reflector. I typically use a reflector unless it is not up to the task. Although I like the fade-to-black look, you can sometimes end up with a head floating in a sea of black. Just need a little bit of separation.   Posted: 02/14/2025 23:52:15
