This was taken on a visit to my brother in Victoria. Koalas have a sanctuary on Raymond Island, a residential island serviced by a ferry. It takes a while to adjust your eyes to seeing them but once you have seen one others mysteriously come into focus.
Wishing you all a very happy Christmas seas and peace and love in 2025.

These koalas are in very soft diffused light which helps to show the details and character of these beuatiful animals. The V shaped trees add to the composition. Perhaps softening the background to complement rather than contrast the koalas would add a little something and eliminate the small branches going into the heads.

Janie, Great image of a koala and its young. To have catch lights in the baby eyes and to have it looking directly at you is a real plus. Agreed with Richard that some of the background was distracting so I darkened it (Hope you don't mind) and I think it did make the koalas pop. Well done. Posted: 12/08/2024 17:43:38

Because the background and animal colors are so similar, I just added a touch of vibrance to the animals to allow for a feeling of separation between them and the tree. Posted: 12/21/2024 19:10:54
