Michael, your Race Track image is cropped perfectly and is very sharp. I have read about this phenomenon and still don't understand it. I guess you have to see it to believe it because these rocks are heavy and aren't small! Love the way you have the mountains in the upper third. Wouldn't change anything. Excellent image.   Posted: 04/08/2026 15:14:01
I have been to this area of Death Valley. Your composition is perfect. The only thing I might try is dodge/burn the area the rock has moved in the mud to increase the contrast from the rest of the dried mud.   Posted: 04/08/2026 17:07:13

Hi Michael - I like the minimalist aspect of this image. But of course that is death valley! The mountain shows and highlights are perfect. The rock gave took me a 2nd and 3rd look, if it was a bit darker with contrast my focus would definitely be on it.   Posted: 04/09/2026 19:38:18
I will do that -thanks   Posted: 04/09/2026 20:33:54
I agree that the ground area could be brought down a bit. I tink the composition is perfect. The depth of field is great: sharp from the very front to the rear. I was there many years ago, but did not see any large rocks with trails. Nice shot. (I hope you didn't get too sun burned out there.)   Posted: 04/10/2026 20:15:40
