About the Image(s)
This image was taken in October 2024 at the Vintage Car Races at Watkins Glen. I’ve been a performance car enthusiast my whole life and I’ve been attending these races for the past 11 years with my two sons and my grandson. I like to photograph the cars from outside of turn 6 because it is elevated above the track and You get a good view of the cars as they are coming into the turn.
I cropped the image tightly and processed it for color and exposure in Photoshop. Sharpening was done with Topaz sharpen AI.
The camera was a Nikon Z8 with a Nikon 70-300 mm lens. Exposure was f/10 at 1/1000 second. And ISO 1800.

Charles, this image is awesome. It is totally sharp and perfectly cropped. Great job freezing the motion and it certainly displays the peak of action. Wouldn't change a thing.   Posted: 04/08/2026 15:21:22
Thanks, Tom. I'm glad you like it.   Posted: 04/08/2026 17:13:17
I agree on everything Tom has to say. You even have the Firestone writing on the tires slightly blurred. Great image!   Posted: 04/08/2026 17:11:30
Thanks for the comments, Terry. I always enjoy shooting these cars.   Posted: 04/08/2026 17:14:09

Everything looks great. Did you try panning also?   Posted: 04/09/2026 20:35:53
Thanks, Michael. I did pan a couple of shots from a different location where the cars were perpendicular to me going from left to right.   Posted: 04/10/2026 19:58:46
