July 2025 - rodeo.

About the Image(s)

This image was taken recently at the weekly Alden, New York rodeo. Prior to the start of
the rodeo, I walked back to the area where people were preparing their horses. These
horses were used for the barrel racing and riding exhibitions. I processed the image in
camera RAW and then Photoshop. The horse was standing next to his (her?) trailer, so I
cropped, then selected the horse, and replaced the background.
Camera: Nikon Z8 with Nikon 70-300 mm lens
Exposure: f/9 @ 1/640 sec (aperture priority), ISO 640

I love the expression on the horses face. The background color really enhances the coloring of the horse. Great job!   Posted: 07/03/2025 17:32:17

Thank you, Sharlana. I use that background for a lot of portraits.   Posted: 07/17/2025 23:11:26

Charles, You captured the best side of this horse, and I do believe the horse grinning at you. You really captured great color and texture in the horses hide throughout its body, its very realistic. The braided hair and colorful halter (?) across its face really adds to the story line. A very nice photo.   Posted: 07/17/2025 21:44:28
