About the Image(s)
I visited Costa Rica this past March. What an amazing and beautiful country. I went with a group of friends and fellow photographers who enjoy birding. As we were driving through San Jose headed to our next destination, we had to stop along side of the road that was temporally blocked. This gentleman was just sitting there outside of his home watching cars and people. I was amazed at the large amount of poverty I saw not only in the cities but the rural areas as well. I shoot this with my Nikon z8 28-120 lens and converted it to monochrome. I did some cropping and removed a lot of highlights (reflections) from the sun.

This is a very interesting image. I think the composition works well; it really shows the poverty in this image. The forlorn expression on the person in the image tells a lot about the image. It really tells a story. Photographically, the image has a lot of tonality and good contrast: rich blacks and detailed whites.   Posted: 05/08/2025 21:49:12
