Description: This image, taken during a trip to Turkey in February 2025, showcases the Library of Celsus in the ancient ruins of Ephesus. Built in the early 2nd century AD to honor Tiberius Julius Celsus Polemaeanus, this remarkable structure once held approximately 12,000 scrolls. In addition to serving as a library, it also functioned as a mausoleum where Celsus was laid to rest.

Your image has a lot of nice texture in it. I think the crop works well. Although it's preferential, I would like to see it a little bit darker.   Posted: 03/15/2025 18:39:06

A nice classic shot of the library. Visiting in February, you got it without the overpowering summer tourist crowds. My wife is Turkish, from Izmir, and we have visited this site maybe a dozen times, from the days when the library was only a foundation, to today when it is re-erected as you saw it. Hope you enjoyed your visit. What else did you see in Turkey?   Posted: 03/25/2025 21:30:30

Hi Stephen, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay in Turkey, even though it was only for one day and overnight. The library and the entire ruins were incredibly impressive, and I hope to have another opportunity to visit again.   Posted: 03/29/2025 17:30:47
