About the Image(s)

This image was captured during the Wings Over Houston Airshow on October 26, 2024 at Ellington Field, Clear Lake, Texas. It depicts a reenactment of a battle and a fighter plane about to go through the thick smoke caused by the explosion on the ground. I overlay a gold color layer to simulate the end-of-day effect.

Camera: Lumix G9 Mk2 with Leica 50-200 mm lens

Exposure: 1/1250 sec at f/7.1
Exposure Compensation: 0 EV
Exposure Program: Manual
Metering Mode: Pattern
ISO: 320
Focal Length: 50 mm

Post Processing: Lightroom was used to make basic tone adjustments. Then, the image was sent to Photoshop where a gold color fill layer was added to give the end-of-day mood, then it was sent to Photo AI to remove minor noises and enhance the sharpness. Upon returning to Lightroom, masks were used to burn and dodge different areas to reach the final result.

Nice shot, Tom. The gold fill layer really makes the image. I think the composition works well with this image.   Posted: 11/08/2024 00:09:26

Tom, the gold layer and the plane just going through the smoke and the fire on the ground makes a great shot. Good job.   Posted: 11/23/2024 08:54:24
