This is the west corridor of the cloisters in Gloucester Cathedral is seen in a few of the films of Harry Potter, you know that not well know wizard. I have been shooting these cloisters for nearly 40 years now and never thought at any time would come the day that I could hand old a camera and take a single image to take this image to do it justice. I have always done three or four images minimum to get the depth and detail you need and to gold the light. But I now stand corrected that it can be done. Who needs a tripod.
Yes, I could do three images for the different levels of light, but it has coped well.
Very basic in lightroom, levelled in Topaz then taken to Silver Efex and used Red filter for the base adjustment.

Really a good shot and processing. Sharpness and contrast.
The presence of a monk of a nun could bring a positive touch, what do you think?
The angle of the shot allow to see the structure of the right wall. I like when these pictures are symmetrical, but I would have not worked in this case (it would have hidden the architecture of the wall).   Posted: 07/17/2024 00:01:18
