October 2026 - Stallion Clashes
Original
About the Image(s)
I took this image in June 2026 near Benton Springs CA using the Nikon Z9 with 100-400 lens, f/8, ISO 560, 1/400. When two males rear up on their hind legs like this it can be bachelor stallions attempting to steal another's mares, fighting over limited resources or young bachelors practicing this.
I did editing in camera raw, photoshop and Nik Silver Efex Pro.
I added a vignette and border. I look forward to your comments.

This is a great shot...it is So much better than your color original. Your PP skills are evident! I have traveled to herd wildlife sanctuaries in Montana, Wyoming, and Idaho. I know it is difficult to capture the "Clashes" these horses present...timing is everything. Good job! Posted: 10/01/2026 17:43:20
Really good! Excellent focus on the horses with an incredible background. The vignette is a good idea. You should be very proud of this one! Posted: 10/05/2026 19:59:14
