We went on a 14 day cruise in June into the Baltic, southern coast visiting Denmark, Poland, Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia with Germany on the way back - was very interesting. Riga is an old city in Latvia and were lucky to witness the changing of the guard outside the Castle - it actually dates from the 14th Century, but much changes happened when under Russian rule - that's why the walls here don't look like a Castle! It is now the President's official residence - hence the guards and formality.
We were just in the right place at the right time - I tried to time the shot when boots were off the ground.
I used my phone (camera still in backpack!), but taken in Raw - then PP in Lightroom. The 2nd image is 'as taken'.

Delightful narrative...and wonderful photo! Yes, your timing was just right, to catch one boot in the air and the Guards marching "into" the frame. What SS did you use? This is very good.   Posted: 10/05/2026 16:41:52

This is a really well captured shot! The cadence of the steps is just right! Have you tried pushing the contrast a little? I would like a little more contrast. Other than that the shot is really good!   Posted: 10/05/2026 19:51:54
