Taken on a wonder around the back streets of Stratford Upon Avon. Yes the road is level the houses are crooked and very old. Just had to grab him with those great boots.

This image has a story, it tells something. Everybody can have its own idea. The conversion in B&W reinforces this meaning.
The man with his clothes is in the same atmosphere than the old houses (out of level and the man not classic). I like the space behind the man and the window to show this out of level buildings.
Very nice street photography.   Posted: 08/05/2026 13:13:57

I really like good street photography! I wish I did it myself more. I know that the man and the shoes is the primary subject, but not having the building lines vertical kind of bothers me but that is just me. Very nice capture!   Posted: 08/05/2026 20:18:25
Paul, you have here street photography in its finest hour!
This gentleman is obviously a slave to fashion...and he is on a mission! His gate tells us he has no time to waste. Beer is being poured while he is still blocks away from his favorite pub. Pay attention to his elongated gate and English running shoes. That and the smooth motion of removing his suspenders while still in stride, so the pace can be quickened....
What a great capture! I like the tone, the texture, the "settled" foundation causing crooked window frames. This is fun to look at.   Posted: 08/07/2026 21:43:25

Paul, this is wonderful street photography. I like the juxtaposition of the level street and the buildings are off-kilter. I agree that this tells a great story... many ideas float through my imagination. And, the boots! It looks like he has a phone bud in his ear, mouth open, so I wonder if he is actually talking while he strides. Composition is nice with space to see the window and grate that he just passed. Very nice street image.   Posted: 08/09/2026 21:58:09
Well done Paul! My first thought, was why you waited until he was past a central position, rather than taking the shot earlier, when he was left of the window. But this image required full attention - the more one looks, the more the differing quirks add up to dawn on the viewer just how good this is! The fact that he is not fashion conscious (apparently no socks with boots), adjusting his bag strap whilst walking past clearly an old building all sums to great street photography - again I would have missed it!
