This is an acoustic dome in a gallery. The way the sound reflects when you stand directly beneath it in the center is quite unique. I was lying on the floor trying to get the whole circle in the frame, even with the 12mm lens. The difficulty of such picture is the symmetry. I tried…
As the subject is circle, I used the squarre format in LR, not at the shooting (which should have been better).
LR: Increased Exposition, Contrast (+33), Texture (+25), Clarity (+28). B&W auto...

I think you have seen a very interesting image and took a good picture. Is this one of those image that if you squint your eyes you will see something? lol. It has a nice kaleidoscope centre. But I think you took the image correctly and it did not need a crop and your crop has made it to tight on the main. So I thought I would show the alternative. Hope you don't mind.   Posted: 04/07/2026 10:30:31
Thanks Paul for your suggestion. I also like it very much, as your not only change d the crop, the process is also different (more soft and sharper).   Posted: 04/13/2026 11:11:11
I love these kind of shots. It makes you think about what the subject is and makes you look closer. I prefer the crop similar to the original that Paul provided. I don't like cutting off the circle with the crop. I think the circle is part of the image. Nice shot. Amazing that even with 12 mm lens you were still this close to the subject!   Posted: 04/10/2026 20:06:33
Thanks Bob for your relevant comment. I cut the circle and It is better not.
It is why such group of discussion is interesting.   Posted: 04/13/2026 11:15:06

Vincent, I like this abstract image. If you had not described what it is, I would never have known. You did a great job with symmetry and looking into the center gives me the impression I am moving into it. Nicely done.   Posted: 04/12/2026 22:14:15
Thanks Mary Ann. We don't have to look too much in the center ....   Posted: 04/13/2026 11:17:27
I join Mary Ann in admiring your image, and in not recognizing what it was, until you told us. At first glance, I thought it was a gas burner on a kitchen stove. And the monochrome version is better...very crisp focus.   Posted: 04/16/2026 18:08:46
