About the Image(s)

Technical: 1/500, f/9,0, ISO 1600 at 18 mm (FF)

In April at 9 PM there was a nice sunset and I was away with my camera. On the way back I saw the beautiful light on this wind turbine, and there were accessible. I was almost at the feet, and I worked in ? continuous shooting mode ? to have only two blades. I didn’t succeed at first time… High ISO, to have speed.

LR: With a such a blue sky I wished to try the B&W, with 2 versions, namely sky completely black, and with sky white. The difference of processing is just the blue cursor of B&W completely left (dark sky) or completely right (white sky). Increased Contrast, Texture and Clarity. Decreased highlight and shadow.

Vincent, I must confess, I do not "get" this one!   Posted: 12/02/2025 23:09:05

I made a mistake. I ask to David to change if possible.
The correct picture te be analyzed is the one with a dark (black) sky. The one with a white sky is an alternative. The original one is the blue sky.
Sorry and thanks to all.   Posted: 12/06/2025 12:42:49

I like the simplicity of this image. I thought it was a wind mill but without the third blade I wasn't certain. It is a really good subject for a monochrome. I see a glow around the structure and I don't know how I feel about that but it is interesting.
Nice job hand holding the camera!   Posted: 12/08/2025 19:22:10

Vincent - this dark sky one works well. I like the just 2 blade simplicity - there is a mystery to the image. Nicely presented. Much more interesting than the other versions.   Posted: 12/13/2025 09:24:47

There is a very good book called "Forms of Japan" which are wonderful minimalist image of Japan. This falls well into that genre, a sight that is now becoming the norm for many but in there own way a beautiful sculpture form especially against the right sky.   Posted: 12/16/2025 14:32:56

Vincent, I prefer the one with the black background as it really brings out the turbine. This is a minimalist photo and has some mystery to it. The light and shadow are perfect. I don't see the glow around it as Bob mentioned.   Posted: 12/17/2025 21:11:08
