Parshall, Colorado, in deep snow by Paul Smith

April 2025 - Parshall, Colorado, in deep snow

About the Image(s)

In the high country of Grand County, Colorado, lies a quiet, isolated ranching community called Parshall. Founded as an official town in 1907, Parshall had a population of 53, as of 2022 ! Prior to its “founding”, it was a silver mining settlement. The photo, nearby helps explain the rugged life one endured to survive, there. This photo was taken in January…full sun and 12 degrees Fahrenheit. I traveled to the Parshall/Hot Sulphur Springs area to capture dilapidated barns, cabins, and corrals. This cabin was typical. Canon 90D, Canon 17 - 85 lens, hand-held, SS 1000, ISO 500, NIK software for B/W conversion.
