About the Image(s)

Technical: 1/160, f/1,8, ISO 320 at 135 mm (FF)

At a fair, there was a studio. I ask the authorization to take pictures, and she agreed. I worked without flash. I wanted to isolate the girl from the background and also worked on her face (eyes and skin). All (and there are a lot of) modifications with LR.

I put a second image, which is different, maybe less severe. I like the main one. This can be upload as Original 2, if you don’t mind.

Vincent, what a great opportunity to photograph a model. Your color version shows the skin tones of her face but in the monochrome that is lost and it loses something for me. I would prefer to see more tones in her face. I like the way you did the background and isolated her. It is very striking!   Posted: 01/13/2025 19:42:48

Thanks Mary Ann.
I did that to try to soften the skin and to have this special effect.   Posted: 01/13/2025 20:08:27

She is a looker and has a lovely shape to her face, the tonality is spot on and you have handled the shirt well. The eye contact is beautiful and for me is the most important.
I just wonder if you could try something else, the arm going right looks a tad awkward and you wonder why and where its going, so my idea is a tighter crop on her face loosing that arm, I added a border to hold the face.   Posted: 01/16/2025 10:48:37

Thanks Paul for your pertinent suggestion.
I agree with you. However I can try to keep the shirt knot.   Posted: 01/17/2025 21:51:07

Agree, I did think about keeping the knot, it was the arm that I found unbalanced the image. So lower crop works well.   Posted: 01/18/2025 17:49:41

A wonderful portrait. You have selected her well, including some of the wispiness of her hair. I prefer the tones of the Monochrome. I, too, prefer a cropped image as does Paul, but I would like to see more canvas around each side.   Posted: 01/17/2025 21:03:35
