About the Image(s)

On a stop in Newbury on a onward journey to Farnham I managed to grab this image of the man sitting there having a restful smoke watching the world pass him by, I loved that his walking stick is sitting straight, I was sitting on the seat directly opposite him with the camera at ground level hence the wired slope which I think adds to the scene.

Processed through Topaz and Silver Efex 6 with street contrast basic with tweaks.

Paul, very nice street photography. The wired slope leads the eye right to the gentleman seated on the bench. He is looking to his left which begs the question as to what is he seeing? He is in front of the other people in the photo so he is the main subject but then it is interesting to look beyond at the two women, the window and reflections. The monochrome brings the focus on the gentleman and shows all the textures.   Posted: 01/13/2025 19:38:17

Indeed great street photography. Well done for the square format.
The triangle with the different people brings a lot.
You removed a bag and a person on the right. Good decision.
At what does he look? Interesting question... without answer....   Posted: 01/13/2025 20:27:47

Another excellent scene. My eye goes right to the subject, but I would like to see the figures on the right and left desaturated and/or blurred a bit to emphasize the subject more. I like the angle of looking up at him.   Posted: 01/17/2025 20:47:08
