Saint-Malo, France. There are blade breakers. This subject, with the light and the shadow, that means a B&W picture. I choose the square format to better isolate the subject.
With LR: inscribed the contrast (+ 30), the texture and clarity, and the shadow.

You have found yourself a very strong subject to have some fun with. You could have spent all day with these and watch what the light did with them.
The image is nice but I do believe you can do better. The shape you have presented has curtailed the poles a touch and is not allowing them to breath, there are a couple of shadows that feel out of place an act as a block for the image. I do however think you have a very strong image here.
I have taken your original and done what I would do with it if I was to use it for competition. This allows the poles and shadows to breath and elongates the image.
Yes I have remove two big shadows that did not fit the image. Just an alternative view.   Posted: 12/15/2024 12:44:31

Thank you very much Paul, I really like your proposition.
An image needs to be worked. I saw with your version the connection between the poles and the clouds, what I didn't see on my B&W version.   Posted: 12/17/2024 20:19:22

I like the revision with the foreground shadows removed.   Posted: 12/18/2024 15:29:35

Vincent, nice use of lines and shadows. I do like Paul's edit as well as he left more of the sky/clouds in and it has more contrast. I wonder what it would have looked like had you stepped a bit to the right so that the line of poles was more visible. Your image is nice and lends itself to many options.   Posted: 12/16/2024 20:54:58

The love the shadows. Your second image submitted in comments is very effective as well. Again, consider whether you want the first shadow.   Posted: 12/18/2024 15:33:05
