About the Image(s)

This was taken in the El Raval district in Barcelona. When I first saw this, I didn't quite know what I was looking at. At first glance, it looked to me like a painting because of the colorful mashup. After staring at it for a while I realized it is an apartment building with lots of hanging garments. Beside it was painted these black arrows which are all pointing up. Then a friend of mine noted that the beige arrows are all pointing down. And lest I forget, there were 3 pigeons at the bottom, probably looking at me as I took the photograph. There are so many things going on here that I thought "Confused" is an apt title for this image.

I used a Canon R5 with 24-105mm lens. I increased the highlights of the colors to make them stand out and cropped out the sides.

Very interesting city scape Nenette. The different apartments is very interesting and all different. The arrows in the bottom right corner enhances the image as it focuses the attention on the rooms. Well done. Very interesting   Posted: 07/07/2024 17:17:55

That's an amazing image! It does look like a painting and the arrows work really well to add a somewhat surreal aspect to the scene.   Posted: 07/08/2024 00:22:21

When you first open this image it impacts your senses with great effect, you struggle to see where to go first. But then you start to see the individual wonders, the patterns, the shapes, the colours and those wonderful three pigeons sitting there waiting for you to take their picture. Oh I wish I had taken this one, right up my street. That central drain pipe holds the image together so well. Well done and well spotted.   Posted: 07/09/2024 10:42:03

I really like this. The composition, the color tones and overall feel of a story about to be told. I agree that the graphical arrows do work well in this and it does have a painterly appeal to it...nice.   Posted: 07/15/2024 14:54:01
