Peek-A-Boo Log by Lori Good

July 2024 - Peek-A-Boo Log

About the Image(s)

This image was taken in Peek-A-Boo Slot canyon near Zion National Park. We had to go off-road in our Jeep about an hour to reach this location. But that’s just part of the adventure of photography! My husband and I came across this log and I thought it really added a nice element in the slot canyon.
I shot this with my Nikon Z9 using my Sigma 18-300 lens.
My shutter speed was .13 sec at f8 at 20mm, ISO 100.

The only editing I did was to highlight the log a bit to help it stand out, then I also cleaned up some rocks and sticks from the ground.

You have been very lucky to have the opportunity to visit this place, seen many lectures of this amazing place and this log has featured in most of them.
The light and colours are fantastic and are a photographers dream and you have placed this in the frame well.
Thank you for sharing and hope to see more.   Posted: 07/09/2024 10:09:37

This is on my bucket list and you have captured it so well! It's absolutely stunning. And that log in the middle definitely adds even more interest in an already perfect image.   Posted: 07/10/2024 03:13:26

I agree with everyone that this is a stunning capture of the canyon, a part of nature's sculpture. I like how the two sides frame the well-lit opening in the center. Great exposure also.   Posted: 07/15/2024 14:07:01

Wow, lovely monochrome image. I saw this object and location so many times from different photographer. This is fist time I see from this angle with monochromatic color. Texture and composition are good.   Posted: 07/16/2024 01:40:49
