This was photo that my group taken before we leave Colombo, Sri Lanka after finishing 3rd PSA Photo Tour in Sri Lanka 2025. Since we got night flight, my group leader took us to the spot that he saw in Instagram.
We came around 4pm and waiting for the sunset until the Lotus Tower Colombo light was on.

I take this photo using handheld.

Editing : Editing using ACR in PS2026 such as exposure, brightness, contrast, shadow, temperature.

Date image was taken : February 14, 2025
Camera make and model - Canon EOS RP
Lens type and focal length - Canon RF 24-240 F4 ??“6.3 IS USM ; FL = 24 mm
Aperture : f/11, Shutter : 1/25 Second, ISO : 6400, Exposure mode : Manual, Metering : Centre-Weighted Average Metering.

It's awesome how the brightly colored Lotus Tower is in contrast to the dark silhouetted cityscape below. My only suggestion would be to crop out the bright lines at the bottom as they draw the eye away from the cityscape.   Posted: 08/09/2026 23:45:16

Hi Marilyn, the rail below it's supposed as leading line. And yet, you are right further check it become distraction element since it's too bright. Thank you for your suggestion.   Posted: 08/18/2026 10:51:29

Very good night time scene of the Lotus tower with a lovely low light coloured sky. The tower is nicely standing out from the sky. However I do think the base is a tad dark and with a touch of luminosity mask you can pull a touch more out of the base and not unbalance the image. Working with the original will do better but I did not notice the train.   Posted: 08/12/2026 09:06:57
