Leaning Azalia by Paul Hoffman

July 2026 - Leaning Azalia

About the Image(s)

Samsung Galaxy Ultra S25 ??“ Focal Length 25mm ISO 80 1/1600 f1.7

Another from this wonderful garden in the New Forest called Exbury. I had to take it as I just loved how this Azalia has grown out across the path to great you the passer by and to show off its wonderful display. I found it very pleasing.

Straight shot very little treatment in Lightroom.

Beautiful image! The path provides a perfect leading line into the forest and the vibrant colors of the azalia bushes add nicely to the overall image.   Posted: 07/09/2026 02:09:31

A beautiful work of color, Paul! Love how the flowers on the left and right sides of the path lean in as if to embrace the traveler. The path, as Marilyn notes, is a nice leading line for the eye.

Just a thought, perhaps a crop on the right side might showcase the colorful flowers a little more by visually eliminating the arched branches - ?   Posted: 07/09/2026 03:05:38

The burst of color is really eye-catching as well as the twisted tree bending towards the ground. I like the overall composition, the detail and color palette. I think it could work very well as an oil painting.   Posted: 07/14/2026 03:19:12
