About the Image(s)

Sony A77 ??“ Minollta 18-35mm 1.8 @ 28mm. ISO400 ??“ 1/125 f11.

Whilst out on one of my wonders with the camera around Cheltenham I came across this scene of light and shade. I had to try and capture it before the light moved or the clouds came and blanked it out. The dapple light falling through the image just was amazing and in a moment it was gone when a cloud came a stole it.

Silver Efex 7, More Silver setting with small adjustments the balance liht and shade.

That's a really interesting image. The tree-lined path is a great leading line into the scene. And the light and shadow work well in black-and-white.   Posted: 04/06/2026 22:22:31

Love the light here! A beautiful blend of light and shadow, and a fabulous path that takes the eye into the composition. Nice symmetry.

An inviting image; makes me want to walk down that footpath!   Posted: 04/07/2026 00:19:08

I did walk down it, the light and shade was wonderful, the housing estate at the end of the alley was not. Shame, you want something like this to open up into a meadow or a lovely square, very rarely do.   Posted: 04/07/2026 09:55:59

In Indonesia, we usually use white smoke bomb in this scene. The purpose is to create ROL. Even though I used to work in jungle and dense forest in Indonesia, this image rather spooky and mysterious scene for me.. lol..   Posted: 04/13/2026 03:06:48

This has a relaxing and peaceful feel while sensing a breeze while strolling through it. I also find the the arcade of trees forming a one-point perspective visually attractive.   Posted: 04/14/2026 23:25:57
