This is another photograph from my trip to Ireland this past June and July. (This particular photograph was taken in July.) I didn’t have a camera with me on this trip, so I took photos with my cell phone (Pixel 9). Moll’s Gap is a mountain pass and one of many scenic spots along the Ring of Kerry in Ireland. The first day my husband and I visited this spot at Moll’s Gap, we couldn’t see anything but a wall of fog. There wasn’t any view at all. Determined to see what is supposed to be a scenic spot, we went back on a clear day and took many photos like this one. It was an incredible experience, as though a curtain had been lifted to reveal hidden scenery. As I was photographing, a couple of bike riders appeared on the scene, which I thought added to this image.
Data on my cell phone: This photo was taken at f/1.7, 1/1266 sec., ISO-21. In Photoshop, I slightly decreased the saturation and added a curves adjustment.

That is a view worth going back for indeed! I love the S curve in this image and how the road disappears in the distance. As consideration for improvement, I would crop out much of the rock in the foreground. It is so bright and it overpowers the main subject. I would also focus more on the S curve and make that your main focal point which means removing some parts of the sky and some on the left side. It's a very sunny day and it lit everything up but maybe you can darken some parts of the image to give it some depth.   Posted: 11/09/2025 14:50:18

This brings back fond memories of my youth and those long cycle holidays in the highlands of Scotland, I have never popped over to Ireland and I do know what I have mist as it is stunning. This shows that off so well with the winding road and the endless view and the clear, crisp image that the phones produce. Makes my brain want to get back on a bike, but not my body. Lovely.   Posted: 11/15/2025 12:10:21
