About the Image(s)
This was captured in Chicago over the summer while walking along the Chicago River on a beautiful sunny day. The center building really stood out, the color original was quite striking observing the green ivy plants crawling along the building's face, but I decided to convert this into B&W.
Taken with a Fujifilm X-T5, X16-80mm at 26mm, 1/210sec, f5/6, ISO125, no flash, no tripod.

That's a great image. It works really well in black-and-white. I couldn't tell that it was ivy growing on the building. I thought it was something more ominous like mold, but that added to the mystery of the photo.   Posted: 11/11/2025 23:25:09
This is a strong image and that main building has impact with the growth up the front. The composition is well done and water and shadow at the foot adds to the image. I do think you tonality could do with a tweak. Looking in the histogram the highlights are lacking and the blacks are a tad deep. A little tweak of highlights and a pull back on the blacks does make for a strong difference, but it is no good me doing it as it needs to come from the original. I tried it in luminosity mask and it looked good. But strong image for mono and architecture comps.   Posted: 11/15/2025 12:41:03
