This is the cobbled High Street of the county town of Surrey, it is a Town as in the late 60’s it desided that it did not want City status even though it has a Cathdral. The high street is most Edwardian and Victorian with the occasional Tudor building. The famous clock sits over the law courts and what was the council offices, I was amazed how diverse and full all the shops where, most centres now have empty shops, but not here.
I am quite proud of this place even though I have not lived here since the early 80’s, but I was born here and remember the bad days. So am so please to see it thriving so well. Well worth a visit if you are in the area as it also have a very pretty Norman Castle and the River Wey is lovely.
Very little done Slight straighten and just genral balance.

My only critique is that I would have loved to see this shot if it were taken a few feet to the left to be more centered. But I can also say that about way too many of my own shots. I'd still absolutely hang this one on the wall though.   Posted: 11/04/2025 22:53:12
