Guildford Wey basin is a delightful area behind the main theatre. This is my old childhood area and had many a great time here. This area is now in the hands of the National Trust and most of the wonderful tow path walks are not open. It is an area od outstanding beauty, but you cannot get to it. My father was the Bailiff and fishing warden for the Wey and we pent many weekends rebuilding this area to what you see now. At least the trout are back.

Wow - I just love the perfect, mirror-like reflections! (Reflections are one of my favorite photographic subjects.) You caught the image at a perfect time, when the reflections appear undistorted by wind or wave action. The boat is nicely framed by the trees and other vegetation. The reddish/orange of the leaves on the right and the brown tones of the large tree trunk nicely complement the greens (it would seem like an unbalanced color palette otherwise, IMHO).
For consideration: perhaps cloning out the sign and post on the right side of the frame...   Posted: 10/08/2025 17:17:01
