About the Image(s)
Description:
I was walking around at night in Chicago trying to capture the beautiful lights of the city and this scene caught my eye. I knew I wanted to capture the starbursts and beams so I set the aperture to f/22 and took a long exposure at 13 sec with ISO at 200.

Wow, amazing. You compose well this image. A Smart idea to make ordinary lamp become point of interest as stars. This could be PSA GOLD medal in any category. Good job Nanette.   Posted: 07/11/2025 08:48:36
Wow very impact full city image. Small aperture to get the star bursts is great. Cannot really suggest anything to improve it it looks great   Posted: 07/13/2025 14:56:52
Well you defiantly did that, the stars are just wonderful and you seem to have a perfect one on each light. The ghost figures add a lovely effect to the image, the the bridge is outstanding and is so powerful, it just grabs you when you open the image with its colour and texture. This is a strong street image that I would have loved to have taken. Well done.   Posted: 07/17/2025 08:42:00
Hello Nanette, congratulations on making such a striking urban scape! I love the leading line of the walkway by what I assume is a bridge. The star flares of the lights are a wonderful feature. The shadow detail is well rendered, to give the viewer a definite sense of the place.
Some thoughts:
- The neon(?) lights on the right upper portion of the frame tend to draw my eye to that space; your might consider lowering the brightness of that area.
- In the lower left quadrant, the bridge girder below the star-flared light is well-illuminated, and I find my eye drawn to that area; You might try lowering the brightness of that area, to help keep the viewer's attention on what I think is your subject - the pedestrian walkway and the wonderful star-flare lights above it.   Posted: 07/24/2025 16:15:27
