Hi Fred,
Your colours are beautiful in this image. Well done.
Part of the flower is in focus (bottom section} which for me is a shame, as in my opinion, if the flower had been focus stacked and been in focus with the colours you have used this image would be great.
I would also consider cropping a bit tighter   Posted: 07/08/2024 07:07:13

Fred, This is very nice. I like what you did with the background. Normally, I find shadows somewhat distracting. I thought about how using a reflector to splash light onto the subject to compromise the sun angle would change the capture, but in your image the shadows work. Nice sharpness, color and texture. Pleasing image. Good work!!

All I did was add a touch of vibrance. What do you think?   Posted: 07/27/2024 20:41:06

Hi Fred,
I am drawn to the textures and play of colors in this image. The center details of the flower are in sharp focus. I appreciate the idea of a sharp, even focus throughout the image, however the softness in the upper part of the bloom does not detract from the beauty of this image for me.   Posted: 07/28/2024 00:25:42

After I sent this to Bev, about 2 weeks later I realized I forgot to add the Story. This was taken this May at Gibbs Garden in Georgia. Info: Tamron lens 18-400mm @ 400mm, 1/8000 sec, f/6.3 ISO 800. around 1pm overcast. This image is of a coral poppy. It was sitting in the middle of a huge poppy field of all red poppies. The wind was approx. 15 mph Hundreds, thousands of poppies swaying and jumping all over the place and I had to choose this one because it was the only one around. No deflectors, no focus stacking :}. Brought into PS used a texture I had and painted in the flower.
