About the Image(s)
My image is a delicate, white hibiscus plant with a deep pink center that is located along the west side of my neighbor's house. It was taken with my Sony 6700, mid-day, and with indirect sunlight. Camera settings were aperture mode, ISO 1000, 135 mm, f/11, 1/500

Mary Ellen, impressive subject. You say midday light but I am not seeing any strong shadows. So the lighting was good.
The composition is pretty good. I'd like more space to the right of the frame and maybe less space on the left of the frame.
Nice shot!   Posted: 08/19/2026 01:45:07

Hi Mary Ellen,
To my eye, the details in the textures of these blooms are revealed and hold my attention. I can imagine the feel of the delicate petals and enjoy studying the progression of the various states of the developing blooms. The soft lighting, sharp focus, and depth of field are so pleasing to me as they enhance the beauty of this image.   Posted: 08/20/2026 13:52:08

I love hibiscus flowers and you have showed their beauty with your photo. See if you can take the photo without the side of the house.   Posted: 08/20/2026 22:33:53
