About the Image(s)
Here is my submission for April, “Oncidium Intergeneric Orchid”. This was taken a few weeks ago at the NY Botanical Garden annual Orchid Show. Since you are to allowed to use monopods or tripods, every photo is hand held. I used my Canon EOS R5 camera with the EF 100 mm F2.8 Macro lens. The ISO was 400, F14, at 1/60 sec.

You've kept the detail of the flowers while blurring the rather busy background - at F14. Nice job.   Posted: 04/01/2026 17:16:51
I htink I might have tried lllightwning the backgrouns a bit to make the flower detail to stand a bit more   Posted: 04/07/2026 20:34:30
Interesting image of a delicate looking orchid. You captured the detail very nicely.   Posted: 04/08/2026 02:49:44
I agree these are lovely orchid details that add interest for me. The vignetting draws me into the frame and helps me focus on the orchid's interesting petals.
I'm wondering what the brown area is at the lower part of the frame. Is it soil or the perhaps tree bark?   Posted: 04/08/2026 18:12:24

It is soil,I guess I should have removed it.   Posted: 04/08/2026 19:04:34
Nice shot! The shape, petals, leaves, and colors of the orchid are lovely. You captured its' fine details nicely, especially handheld. The lower right brown area and also the bright spots in the upper left corner are a bit distracting. I would darken both these areas. Very pretty!   Posted: 04/10/2026 15:40:06
