About the Image(s)

I started out thinking about putting together some of my images from Yellowstone, which I used to visit yearly. I composited the images in PSCC 2025 and then worked on the layers by masking the subjects. I originally had people in the scene but it seemed to make it too busy.

I added the O#2 texture image to the bison. It kind of smoothed out his hide. After arranging the Bison (O#1) so that he was looking at O#3 "Old Faithful." I put a Poster Edge and Texturizer filter on it from the Filter Gallery. I know the scale is wrong but does that ruin the image for you? What should I have done differently that would make the image more impactful to you? Feel free to add your own versions.

Bob,
The final composite has one really good thing going for it. The texture that you have a sieved reminds me of a picture of the bubisdon drawn on a sling of an animal, giving it a strong Western influence. The size of Old Faithful is to me was too small, looking froore like th smoke coming out of a campfire. I would try this with a much smaller bison and a big Old Faithful or pic some other Yellowstone objects that could go closer in size to the bison. The concept is a good one, but needs some more thought, perhaps. There's a hot spring that's a lot smaller that might go well with the bison zin front of it. I think it's near Old Faithful. Other thoughts are maybe some elk, some other hot springs like Grand Prismatic Springs, Mammoth Hot Springs, and so on.   Posted: 04/12/2025 23:42:17

Thank you, Joan. I must admit I have no idea what a bubisdon is. I take it that the scale ruins the image for you. Original #2 is from one of the hot springs, which I used for the color and texture.   Posted: 04/16/2025 20:27:30
