About the Image(s)

My image is just a creation - I'm really trying to go beyond my comfort zone and try to be creative. I took a picture of a tree on a very gray foggy morning and made it a silhouette. I then took an image of boiling water ( just before the spaghetti went in) and combined the images. The background was created from a textured white painted canvas and a layer of another image to give it some color. I then added birds with a bird brush - because I LOVE brushes and also took a soft round brush to add a little highlight.

Trees and birds are popular this monthand here we have another combination of elements which compositionally works well. It is the colour which distracts me and I think a conversion to mono would work even better. see my qiuck effort below.

Thank you Ian. The second "original" image isn't mine...I had submitted the tree...just an fyi. I do like your monotone version - definitely gives it a whole different look.

Hi Suzy, highly creative abstract. I would not have guessed what the boiling water was. I'm not sure what color was added from the O2 image, but I would only consider adding a gradient to unify the colors and tones. I made this a bit more vivid, but Ian's B&W also unifies the whole.   Posted: 03/14/2025 11:26:41

Thank you, Bob. Just trying to create and go out of my comfort zone. I look at other people's images and things they combine and wonder how they would even think to come up with the different elements they use! The background colors are just a background of colors I created. Colors, gradients, tones and hues are all things I'm wanting to learn. Thank you!   Posted: 03/14/2025 13:10:46

I agree with Ian about black and white. I'm note sure it needs the texture in the sky, sometimes simple is better. I know you love brushes - but why not use real birds? It is fun to be creative like this.   Posted: 03/21/2025 07:26:07

Aui, I guess you are a fairly new member as I don't recognize your name and I see that we have not yet gotten a photo of you for your bio. welcome to this crazy world of creative. I really appreciate that your boiling bubbles came part of the sky fo he silhouetted tree. You might even have spread them out a bit more so the they mostly filled the sky. As for the colors, I have no problem with your color assemblage and fell that both mono and color work well. As f or the birds, I have also used brushes to make objects that one wouldn't normally see in brushes, so good for you. You could have possibly angled the birds so they weren't
t all at the same angle., but I'm glad that you changed the size I have never seen such even bubbles in boiling water. How did you get tha?t Mine are always big and little and bursting and breaking u p. Lovely capture of the water. I do like what you have done with the tree and other components. Good work.   Posted: 03/21/2025 22:08:37
