About the Image(s)

Original was taken in Golden Acre Park, Leeds of the island in the pond and the tree. I was looking for a more colourful scene reflecting autumn tints. After doing basic adjustments in camera Raw and dehaze to add detail to the sky, in PS I used the healing brush to remove the twigs top right and cropped a little off the foreground. Duplicating the layer I used Topaz choosing the Impasto pre set and reducing opacity to 80%.

Ian, I like what you have done with this image. It is much more vibrant than the original.   Posted: 12/11/2024 18:03:57

Hi Ian, I believe you have met your goal with this image, as it is more colorful and conveys a warm and fuzzy feeling to me. The original lacked pop for sure. Excellent job.   Posted: 12/11/2024 18:11:08

You have turned a fairly bland landscape into something textural and colourful and generally more interesting.   Posted: 12/15/2024 15:35:01

I wonder sometimes if my goal in photography should be fine art, realism, documentation, or combinations. Photo editing has become an even greater dilemma for me.
As your image this month recreates an impressionist painting from a mundane image, I must ask myself if going forward I try to find artistic release from my photography or from my editing.   Posted: 12/15/2024 18:15:47
