About the Image(s)
I took this image out on the country back roads as fall was winding down. I intentionally shot the image with the road centered to lead the eye straight through the image. The trees and fence lines on either side of the road follow the length of the road and provide an added dimension around the leading line of the road. To get a different look, in Elements I added two variations of an "old paper" filter which resulted in my second and third images. I like all of the images, but I love the vintage look resulting from the filter. That may be a nod back to the days of shooting film.

I get a soft, pleasant "country" feeling when I see this photo. The mild lighting is a nice change from ordinary bright sunlight. The trees on both sides keep me centered looking down the road. Nice perspective for a calm scene. On your other two photos, I see the paper texture which would give a print a different look.   Posted: 11/12/2025 23:58:50
Carol it was a rather dull day actually; however, I liked the composition and leading lines in the image. I like applying filters or presets sometimes just to see a different look.   Posted: 11/19/2025 16:26:44
Hi Lisa, I would love to see the "original" original to see what effect each filter had on the image you captured. Were the colors more vibrant?
I agree with the vintage look. You captured this lonely road on a winter day nicely.   Posted: 11/13/2025 18:04:26

Hi Bunny. The filters were applied to the image I submitted for this month. The colors were muted as it was an overcast gray December day.   Posted: 11/19/2025 16:25:22
Now I get it! The original is the big image. The two on the side are not originals, but variations 1 and 2 created by using two different filters.   Posted: 11/19/2025 16:54:18
