About the Image(s)
I took this picture during a walk with my daughter on a beautiful sunny day. I thought it demonstrated this month's theme very well as it is simple but still shows how blessed we are to have the use of our hands and fingers to perform delicate tasks.
This was straight out of my fujifilm X-T20 with no modification aside from reducing the file size.

To me, dexterity is an activity. So while your image of your daughter is lovely, it doesn't have the dynamic quality that I associate with the concept of dexterity. Given that you chose the assignment for the month, I am curious as to what inspires you as images of dexterity.   Posted: 07/18/2025 05:23:57
Jarrod - I see the connection you're making between being able to gently pick and hold a small blossom and dexterity. I particularly like your perspective looking down, so that her hands look so large compared to her feet. I also like the diagonal feel of the photo; it gives it more energy than I think it would have if you shot straight on.   Posted: 07/20/2025 01:05:14
I almost see this more as an image showing perspective. I think that capturing your daughter as she actually picked the flower gently and carefully would be more representative of dexterity.   Posted: 07/23/2025 19:22:55
I like the angle and the juxtaposition of the hands with the delicate buttercup. I tend to agree with Lisa that her picking the flower would be more inclusive of the Dexterity assignment. Nice story though.   Posted: 07/23/2025 20:17:43
What attracted my attention first was the unique camera angle and its effect on your daughter's body. Another appealing aspect to your photo is the way her feet are shown at a cute, child-like angle. Your f-stop 5.6 makes the little yellow flower stand out. I think of dexterity as doing something with movement. Here she is holding the flower with nothing that appears to require any special dexterity.   Posted: 07/28/2025 21:06:01
