About the Image(s)

Today I'm crocheting a 4" wide, small purse for an 18 inch doll such as an American Girl doll. I hope you can see the yarn near the hook. I put a vignette on the final image to help steer the viewer there. The image labeled Original is merely an overall view of my setup. The final image is exactly how I show it plus some small amount of post editing. The setup is on my couch, so it's not officially a table top still life! I used a table lamp and window light for the lighting. I needed a reflector, so I used my very, very old crushed-aluminum-foil-on-a-piece-of-cardboard, as you can see in the extra photos I've included. I wanted the word Yarn to be the secondary center of attention after the hook/yarn., just in case the viewer wasn't familiar with a crochet hook. Taken with iPhone and edited on computer with Photoshop.

Here's the final version of the doll purse I was crocheting. I added an AI background (garden pink flowers) using iphone Photoshop. The purse is 3 inches wide.   Posted: 05/09/2025 17:14:17

Wow the purse is amazing..how clever to create this! I am glad you posted the final image. I really like your workmanship and detail in the crochet with the hook telling the story. Lighting is perfect and the backdrop of the pink with the strong detail offsets nicely the white crochet purse in progress. To me i would crop out the writing and the ball of yarn as you have enough of a story in itself.   Posted: 05/12/2025 20:16:06
