May 2025 - Still Life - Music & Dance Still Life

I attended a Still Life workshop at my local camera club. I learned some techniques for creating a scene as well as for dealing with both natural and artificial lighting. This was captured using a tripod, and in natural light. I added a textured background in post.

I immediately see a musical story with a ballet theme. I love how everything looks so sharp and crisp. Your added background seems to follow the curves of the still life objects. I like the uniqueness of your chosen items. I even see blue sheet music! My suggestion for improvement involves the lighting as done in post editing. I darkened the light areas near the violin and brightened the violin itself. I simply painted over the areas using a mask in Photoshop's filter called Adobe Camera Raw (ACR).
