About the Image(s)
For this month, I selected an image from a macro workshop that I did with a topic of "Kids Toys." This is a macro image of a small part of a bubble blower...while I realize there is some orange in the image, the predominant colors are the complementary colors of purple and yellow.

Nice photo Lisa, and it captures a lot of the nuanced shading between yellow and orange. For me it's almost a textbook example of why I have always been a little confused between the orange/ blue complementary colors and the opposing colors represented by the yellow/ blue white balance sliders in any color editing program.   Posted: 03/07/2025 09:00:59
I think the fun aspect of this colorful image is largely due to the colors. They sure emphasize the shapes. The shapes remind me of candy pieces. Wouldn't it be fun if this bubble blower could blow bubbles that stayed that shape! Regarding the complementary colors, I am still learning. I printed a color wheel chart for the primary, secondary, and tertiary color wheels...no wonder I'm confused! But this month's topic has opened my eyes as to why some photos seem special but I couldn't put my finger on why!   Posted: 03/09/2025 12:42:48
Hi Lisa,
This is a wonderful color image! You have the main complement of purple-yellow, but the orange complements the blue shadow I the center circle. Very nice. I like it!   Posted: 03/09/2025 14:05:10
