About the Image(s)
We had a troupe of light spinners demonstrate their talents at a meeting a few years ago. I had just discovered ‘polar coordinates’ in PS and thought every image needed that filter. The original here was a truly awful shot. But what a surprise when I applied the polar coordinates! It looks like the household pet belonging to some family from Alpha Centauri. The only other thing I did was add a stroke to separate it from the background. Hmmm. He needs a name. Any ideas?

This image made me feel instantly happy...I guess I see a happy face of a cuddly teddy bear! He's my new Electric Teddy Bear! Adding the red stroke for a framing element really sets off this image and helps made the head seem to have a body because the head is slightly above the image center. Your result makes me want to go play with polar coordinates whenever I feel a compulsion for something out-of-the-ordinary! Thanks for the inspiration!   Posted: 12/11/2024 21:50:45

Another wonderful photo - and thank you for pointing out the "polar coordinates" in Photoshop; I'm sure it would be fun to play with. Although there is so much in Photoshop I know I'll never approach exploring everything.

Photoshop's polar coordinates filter is like a kaleidoscope. There are phone apps that mimic a wide range of kaleidoscope designs. It is fun to try them. Most of the time you get a design. This time you got a face! Cute!   Posted: 12/18/2024 23:27:49

How fun is this? One of the things I enjoy about this group is learning about different techniques/tools. Great job with a tough topic!   Posted: 12/19/2024 03:18:23
