About the Image(s)
Lucky me. We purchased a house 3 years ago which has an apple tree. This year the blossoms are crazy. Last year all we did was keep the squirls fed eating all the unripe apples.
Using my Nikon D850 with Nikon DX macro lens I shot this photo. The ISO was set at 400 with f/5 and 1/500 sec shutter. It had just finished raining, so the sky was still dark, and the blossoms were wet.
I did my best to reduce bright spots. I post-processed the photo using Photoshop and NIK.

I bet your yard smells really lovely with those apple blossoms! I love the rain droplets on the front petal but I'm not sure what's going on with the petal directly behind the one with the big rain drops. It has a halo around the top side that I find very distracting. I would try adding a layer in PS and paint in a darker shade in that light triangle right above that petal. Perhaps it will help with not pulling the eye to that area.   Posted: 04/13/2025 14:08:53
Thank you Karen. You are so correct. Guess my focus was only on the flower's center.   Posted: 04/15/2025 18:35:09
Thanks, Lori, for posting this apple blossom. It is a treat to see so many signs of spring that are emerging around us. I admire the tack sharp focus on the center of the blossom and the rain drops convey a sense of freshness to me.

The flower blossom is lovely. I too like the sharpness of the center. I like the lovely yellow in contrast to the soft petals.   Posted: 04/19/2025 21:58:53
