About the Image(s)

The opera glasses were my grand-mothers' prize possession, with the mother-of-pearl on them. The core is about 3" long. I keep them where I can view them, and thought they might make a good close-up with her pearls. This is a Galaxy S-23 Ultra shot with ISO 500 at 1/35 sec. and f/1.7. I was impressed with this phone's capabilities. -Melissa

Hi Melissa:

I love this image. Your focus is clear and crisp. The reflection on the mother of pearl is perfect. Your choice of the backdrop allows the image to sit on its own without distraction. Great job.   Posted: 11/05/2024 17:32:26

Hi Melissa,

I'm so impressed with the crispness of this shot, tack sharp focus, the play of light that reveals textures, and the dynamic sense that the composition suggests. To my eye, the reflections of the pearls in the opera glasses further enhance the image and its impact for me. Thank you for sharing!   Posted: 11/14/2024 01:02:16

Melissa, this image has so much imagery for me. I can feel the excitement in the large opera hall. The audience dressed in their finest formal attire. The pearls add a touch of elegance. I can feel the anticipation of the audience for the curtain to go up and enjoy an evening of Verdi's Aida. Like Charissa, I like the crispness of the image. The reflection of the pearls in the glass was a nice touch.   Posted: 11/20/2024 05:38:47
